About The Relay

Fill the Boot Firefighter Relay is an Australian first! Thousands of firefighters across Australia will either be running, cycling, walking or flying from station to station over two weeks. They will pass a firefighters' boot on at each station, symbolic of the fundraising efforts of thousands of firefighter's efforts to Fill the Boot through fundraising to support children and families living with a neuromuscular condition. Each fire station is encouraged to raise a minimum of $5,000 prior to the relay event which will finish in Sydney 19 October 2012 coinciding with the opening of the World Firefighter's Games. At the finish line, relay firefighters will be welcomed by  politicians, media, 15,000 spectators and 10,000 firefighters from all around the world for a massive celebration.
