Muscular Dystrophy Foundation

The Muscular Dystrophy Foundation Australia core objectives are to provide a truly national voice for Muscular Dystrophy, to achieve greater advocacy and awareness, to support research, and to raise funds to be channelled to state Muscular Dystrophy Associations.
Muscular Dystrophy Foundation Australia enables its associations to contribute at a local level. The incidence of persons living with a neuromuscular condition is estimated to be 100 per 100,000 head of population. It is estimated that there are more than 20,000 people in Australia who have some form of neuromuscular condition.

What Your Help Means

By getting involved with Fill The Boot, your fire station will help support important research and vital services to individuals and their families throughout Australia who are suffering from a neuromuscular condition, such as Muscular Dystrophy. 50% of the net funds raised will support ground-breaking research into finding a cure and treatment, providing the gift of hope for children and families.  The other 50% of funds raised will enable greater provision of essential services including respite, equipment, information, seminars and camps for children and young people.
